2. Story games and improv games
a) Goldilocks and the three bears: https://www.dltk-teach.com/rhymes/goldilocks_story.htm
improvise a scene between Goldilocks and her mother. What might Goldilocks say to her mother when she gets home?
b) Hot-seating
One student will be in the hot seat. This student will assume a character from the story. The other students will then ask the "character" questions to which the person in the hot-seat must reply to as fully as possible.
c) Phone conversations - Actor must talk on the phone and crate the illusion that there is someone on the other end of the line.
- A boss tries to fire an employee who is begging for another chance.
- A teen is trying to explain to a grandparent how to set up an email account.
d) Alternative endings - Student chooses a story and creates an alternative ending for it.
Example: Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Mrs. Bear calls the police and they come to the house and arrest Goldilocks.
e) Improve game - Wrong Name
Purpose: to make yourself more aware and present by shaking your mind free of old patterns and associations
3. Settings - Remove background and superimpose image
What is Setting? Setting is the time and place (or when and where) of the story. It's a literary element of literature used in novels, short stories, plays, films, etc., and usually introduced during the exposition (beginning) of the story, along with the characters.
How to virtually place yourself in front of any landmark with free image editing tools.
Remove.bg is a free tool that will automatically remove the background from selfie-style pictures. Pixabay and Unsplash are good places to find free pictures of world landmarks. Google Slides is an easy-to-use tool for layering two pictures together to create a new one. Combine all three of those tools and you can virtually place yourself in front of any world landmark.
